Cambodia Gambling Halls

There is an appealing history to the Cambodia gambling dens that lie just over the border from nearby Thailand, where gambling hall wagering is banned. Eight gambling dens are situated in a relatively tiny area in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This conclave of Cambodia casinos is in an excellent spot, a three to four hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the two largest gambling locations in Asia. Cambodia gambling dens do a huge business with Thai laborers and guests from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with only very couple of Westerners. The astonishing capital gained from the gambling halls ranges from $7.5 million to over 12.5 million dollars, and there are a few limitations requirements for gambling den ownership. Ownership is assumed to be mostly Thai; however, financial sources are vague. The borders are ceremoniously open from 9:00 a.m. to 17:00, and even though visas are allegedly required to pass, there are ways around this, as is accurate of most border crossings.

The 1st Cambodia gambling dens premiered in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were required to close in 1998, leaving only one gambling den in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a docked ship gambling hall, features one hundred and fifty one armed bandits and sixty table games. The Naga gambling den is open 24 hours with forty two tables of mini-punto banco, four tables of chemin de fer, 10 of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and one each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The first gambling den in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in 1999 and the Golden Crown soon followed. A total of 150 slot machine games and 5 tables at the Golden Crown and 104 one armed bandits and sixty eight gaming tables at the Holiday Palace. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort highlights 300 one armed bandits and 70 tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six slot machines and 96 table games, including eighty seven baccarat banque (the most dominant game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slots and 66 of the common table games, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the 8 gambling dens in Poipet, again a part of a motel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slot machine games and ninety seven games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of a comprehensive resort and hotel building that features numerous luxuries on top of the gambling hall, which houses 10,000 square feet of one hundred and thirty one armed bandits and eighty eight gaming tables.
